Seeking and Seeing God’s Wisdom Over Man’s Wisdom
Pride Comes Before the Fall
Devotional | Segment 3 – Episode 67
Scripture Focus:
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” – Proverbs 16:18
Reflection
The Bible reminds us that pride blinds us, but God’s wisdom brings clarity. On our own, we only see dimly (1 Corinthians 13:12). We try to lean on our own understanding, cleaning the “windshield” of life with self-effort. But true clarity only comes when we surrender to God’s wisdom.
He alone declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:9–11). His path is straight, but our pride and fear often lead us to zigzag.
Just like Peter sinking on the water, when we take our eyes off Jesus, we lose focus. But when we trust Him, He gives us steady steps.
Takeaway
-
Earthly wisdom is dim. We see only in part.
-
God’s wisdom is clear. He knows the end from the beginning.
-
Surrender is the key. When we trust Him, He makes our path straight (Proverbs 3:5–6).
Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve leaned on my own understanding. Help me surrender daily to Your wisdom. Open my eyes to see clearly, and keep me on the straight path You’ve prepared for me. Amen.
👉 Remember: You are never walking blind when you walk in His wisdom.
