Love: Synonyms and Antonyms
Before defining love, we examined what it is not.
Bitterness (Cain)
Rage (Saul)
Selfishness (Judas)
Unkindness (Sarah)
Meanness (Jezebel, Herod)
Hatred (Cain)
Each began with jealousy, envy, or pride.
If left unchecked, they grow.
Bitterness becomes hatred.
Rage overrides conscience.
Selfishness blinds the heart.
But 1 Corinthians 13 shows us true love:
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
Love does not envy.
Love does not seek its own.
Agape love can uproot every work of the flesh.
Recognize it.
Remove it.
Replace it with love.
